Palindrome Sign Unveiling: Celebrating Artist Tom Booth
On Saturday, December 18th, Join us for the ceremonial unveiling of the now-restored Palindrome sign, recently repainted by its original creator: Tom Booth, who passed away in May of this year.

Artist Tom Booth
This event will celebrate the memory and work of artist Tom Booth, starting with the Palindrome sign he so recently cared for with his own restorative hands.
Here is a link to the notice in the Leader about Tom’s passing. There are websites displaying many of Tom’s paintings during his time in Maui. His signpainting work and murals continue to grace communities everywhere including ours.
We will wait for the unveiling event to show the newly restored Palindrome sign in its full splendor. In the meantime, here is another one of Tom Booth’s famed contributions to our local community: The KPTZ t-shirt design from 2012.
Trudy. I am smiling to see the recognition, honor and friendship you are sharing for Tom and his legacy. He loved working for you. How happy he would be to know you celebrate him and his artwork. I expect his energy will infuse the day with kindness and humor.
Sending gratitude and blessings from México for a successful event.
Carol Long
Hi Carol, I’m so happy you found out about the sign unveiling! I didn’t know how to contact you. I had hoped to do a sign debut earlier but Covid happened. I wish Tom could be here to see his sign in the Palindrome. I’m so happy we found him and that he was willing to create our new signs. And redo the old Palindrome sign that everyone loves. He was such a talented artist and kind person.
Matt said he found other works that he had done and I think he has the photos. Is there a particular charity he would have wanted to support?
Sincerely, Trudy
